What is VAST

Viewer Access Satellite Television (VAST) is a satellite-delivered service that provides commercial and national (ABC and SBS) broadcasting services. It is funded by the Australian Government to provide access to a suite of metropolitan-equivalent broadcasting services to people in remote areas and to viewers in terrestrial digital television 'black spots', who would not otherwise be able to receive digital television services.

If you are in a "black" spot and can not get Free to Air TV signal then VAST may be the options for you.

Access to VAST requires a certified VAST set top box and satellite dish of at least 65cm in diameter. Contact your satellite dish installer to find out the dish size you need for your specific location

Access to the service is controlled by the smart card which is supplied with the satellite set top box. To access VAST you will need to register your details including your address, reception location and smart card number.

What channels are available on VAST?

ABC and SBS are broadcasting their standard and high definition channels.

Southern Cross Media, Imparja TV, WIN and GWN are broadcasting digital commercial television channels from the 7, 9 and 10 networks.
